Marshall Tidrick was born and raised in Austin and went on to study classical saxophone at The University of Texas. But it was a class he took with renowned Magnum photographer Eli Reed that changed his life and made him fall in love with photographing people. Through deliberate, evocative portraiture or a photojournalistic, documentary fly-on-the-wall style of storytelling, Marshall looks for every opportunity to use his large-format cameras and artist’s intuition. His commercial work includes images for HEB, UPS, Fortune Magazine, CVS, South By Southwest, The Chicago Tribune, Austin FC, Texas Monthly, American Cancer Society and The San Francisco Chronicle, among others. He finds inspiration in places that bring people together, and you can usually find him in Barton Springs pool with his wife and his cameras.
